Lesson #14 in my “Average Sucks! Learning How To Become Remarkable” series.  To begin the series (highly suggested), please click –> Here

In Steven Covey’s 7 Habits of Highly Effective People he identifies a simple way to elevate your awareness of you and how effective you really are.  I call it once again, another Blind Spot…

Quadrant 1:

Quadrant number 1 is both Important and Urgent.  Here is where I found most entrepreneurs spend the majority of their time.  Here you are dealing with daily fire drills, deadlines, and perhaps long meetings.  While I have seen some entrepreneurs be very effective here…WARNING: if you spend too much time in this quadrant I promise you, you at some point will burnout.  It is important therefore for you to spend a good amount of your time as well in…

Quadrant 2

Quadrant number 2 is where, what you are working on is Important but Not Urgent!  Here is where much (if not all) of your growth and saw sharpening will take place.  Here is where you will find true happiness.  Here is where I for example meditate, exercise, spend time with family and friends, read, etc.  Living and being in this quadrant is very important towards your constant growth and happiness.

Quadrant 3

Quadrant number 3 is the place when you spend your time on Not Important but urgent matters.  Talk about wasting time!  If you find yourself here, clearly recognize this and shift!  Lack of focus on what is important and dedicating really any time in either of these bottom two quadrants will neither make you a happy or successful entrepreneur.  Same goes for sure in…

Quadrant 4

If you are there, again notice it and Shift!
So now, where do you think you spend the majority of your time?  Write down the percentages of time you spend in each quadrant and make the changes you now know you must!
Click HERE to read Part II and actually LEARN how to better, more effectively manage your time.
If you desire to more effectively manage your time I assure you this will be something you will need to work at and practice. Practice regularly in fact.  And, what better way to get started practicing than to purchase a copy of Andrew’s e-book (below).  Meanwhile, to continue following our blogs, simply enter your email address where it says “blog feed” on the top right of the blog page.
